Privacy

Build Club works without an account. Filters and stars then stay in your browser only.

"Near me"

When you tap "Near me", your browser asks whether to share your location. Your position is used in your browser to pick events nearby, rounded to about a kilometre. It's sent to us only if you're signed in, and then only to save it as your place. If you type a town instead, we look it up with the Dutch government's address service (PDOK).

If you sign in with Google

We get your Google account ID, email address, name and profile photo, and nothing else (the openid, email and profile scopes). We store:

The Sunday email

Anyone can sign up for next week's events, with or without an account. We store your email address, whether and when you confirmed it (we only send after you open the confirm link), where you signed up (the site or your account), and the place for "Near me" your browser had then, if any. The emails go out through Resend (Resend, Inc.) every Sunday at 18:00. Each has a one-click unsubscribe; after that we keep the address marked as unsubscribed so it isn't emailed again. Write to hi@buildclub.nl to have it removed completely.

If an event you submitted goes live, we send you one email at your Google account's address to say so. Nothing else.

If you submit an event

We store the link or the details you typed (title, time, venue and address, price, registration link, description), when you sent it, your account, and our verdict with its reason. The address is looked up with PDOK to check it's in the Netherlands. If the event is listed, it shows on Build Club as "Submitted by the organizer", without your name. Only you and the Build Club editors see who submitted it. Deleting your account deletes your submissions, and listed ones leave the site within a day.

The data sits in a Cloudflare D1 database (Cloudflare, Inc.). We don't sell it, share it or use it for ads. There are no trackers.
